S2V Consulting has recently provided engineering consultancy and commissioning support services for a major Australian operator to enable the conversion of subsea flowline infrastructure from production to gas lift service. Primary project drivers were to boost production and improve field economics through revitalising mature, high watercut wells with artificial lift, and to commission and prove the asset’s import gas facilities to reduce the production risk profile.
The scope encompassed commissioning procedure preparation and offshore execution support, with engineering evaluation and risk management. In order to effectively address the complex project challenges, deliver against schedule and assure appropriate risk mitigation for the unique operations involved, we deployed an integrated, multi-discipline team comprising Process, Flow Assurance, Mechanical and Safety & Risk disciplines.
The conversion was carried out successfully, ahead of schedule and without incident, with offshore commissioning and engineering oversight provided by key S2V Consulting personnel. Technical Director Jim Bonini lead the scope of work and commented, “Our client was delighted with the successful outcome of this project on many levels, the commissioning phase of which presented genuine challenges and risks to personnel, the asset and production. Such positive feedback again underlines the value we offer through our pro-active leadership, technical expertise and integrated delivery model.”
